Will

Will Fischer is the fire behind Wyvern Pottery. He threw his first pot in 2010 and has been playing with mud ever since. He apprenticed in the Southern folk pottery tradition in the foothills of North Carolina where he learned the art of expressive face mugs, a form he continues to explore with playful reverence.

An eighth-generation Vermonter, Will brought his pottery to the hills of Vermont, where he draws inspiration from the land and the legacy of makers who came before him. He honed his craft working on the wheel at renowned potteries such as Mud Dabbers, Farmhouse Pottery and Simon Pearce.

In his free time, Will enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons, bodybuilding, and hiking and baking with his wife Carolyn.

Wyvern

Wyverns

Wyverns are mythical creatures with the body and wings of a dragon, two legs, and a scorpion-like tail. Found in both medieval heraldry and fantasy lore, wyverns have long symbolized strength, mystery, and imagination

Just like these fierce and fantastical creatures, Will's pottery balances tradition and fantasy, carrying the weight of stories untold
